My name is Chris and I’m from a small, rural town in Virginia. I’d never done much traveling outside the US other than a week in London with my family when I was a kid. I had never really been anywhere, so as I was considering taking the pre-med course in Berlin at the Berlin Medical Academy, it seemed a bit daunting and I was pretty apprehensive.
Growing up, I always wanted to be a doctor, but my grades in high school weren’t always that good. Even if I would’ve gotten in, med school is expensive. I had heard about Berlin Medical Academy but going abroad for the entirety of my education was not something that had crossed my mind before.
I took my chances and called the office to find out about the program and voice my concerns. The folks there gave me a lengthy consultation and were so nice, helpful, and reassuring. Long story short, I took the dive and had an incredible experience during my pre-med semester in Berlin. Of course, a lot of my time was spent studying for class and doing homework, but Berlin is such a fascinating city and there’s never a lack of anything to do. My time there was incredibly valuable.
Now I’m getting ready to start my first semester at the University of Split in Croatia. The entrance exam was not a problem for me at all, the pre-med course prepared me extremely well. I am certain that I am also well prepared to master the first year of my medical studies abroad.
